Later in gym class, Valerie and I were doing cartwheels across the floor. "I wish I could do cartwheels as well as you," I told her. Valerie took gymnastics so she looked like a human windmill turning across the floor.
"Oh, you can do it, you just need a little bit of practice," she replied.
"You're going to need about 17 million hours of practice," John Michael said. He and two other boys laughed hysterically as I tumbled to the ground for the third time.
"Oh, you can do it, you just need a little bit of practice," she replied.
